PSHE education is a school subject through which pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe, and prepare for life and work in modern Britain. We follow the Jigsaw curriculum. There are 6 Jigsaw half-termly units designed so the whole school can study the same learning themes at the same time, each year group at its own level. The Puzzles are sequential and developmental throughout each academic year.

The school incorporates elements of Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) education across all areas of the curriculum in order to develop children’s social skills and enable them to become informed, active and responsible citizens.
Our pupils experience the process of democracy in school through the election of class representatives, who make up the school council. They are encouraged to voice their views, ideas and opinions through this process, thus making a positive contribution to the school community.
Exciting things are happening in PSHE with Relationships and Health Education soon to become statutory in 2020. This means that our current lesson based PSHE curriculum will be changing in the near future.
