From Wednesday 6th January, school will only be open to Vulnerable and Key worker children. All other children are expected to complete online learning tasks via Seesaw.
4th January 2021
Dear Parents/ Carers,
Following my email yesterday, I would like to inform you that after lots of discussions, we have made the decision not to open the Foxdell Federation on 5th January and move to remote learning for the majority of our pupils. As you can imagine, this has been a very difficult decision but the health and safety of pupils, staff and families is paramount. We will review our decision each week, with the intention to reopen for all pupils on Monday 18th January.
As mentioned in the email yesterday, we will remain open for key worker and vulnerable groups.
Parents and Carers who fit into these categories need to email the school with their child’s name, class and their key worker position to request a place. School will reopen for these groups on Wednesday 6th January.
It is a government expectation that schools provide learning for pupils that are not in school and pupils access that learning at home. Year Leaders and Class Teachers will be uploading home learning tasks onto Seesaw each day and there is an expectation that ALL pupils access this. Seesaw will be monitored daily and staff will aim to respond to at least 2 tasks per pupil. If you have problems with Seesaw and would like support with this then please contact the school via email (see below for contact emails).
We will be in contact with you and will be making welfare calls over the next two weeks.
We recognise that this is yet again a difficult situation for many of you and will cause upset for pupils but I’m sure that you will agree safety must come first.
We will keep you updated.
