We hope you are well and staying safe in these unprecedented times.
As you are aware we are working extremely hard to provide the best remote learning offer we can for our children, and this will continued for all year groups including Reception, Year One and Year Six.
Following the announcement from the government at the weekend, we are currently awaiting further confirmation and advice as to how to proceed and implement the return to school of children in Reception, Year One and Year Six.
We will be trying to make the school as safe a place as possible for learning. However, it must be made very clear that to enforce the two metre social distancing rule will be almost impossible to implement although we will endeavour to do our best. As we are sure you will be aware this will be harder to enforce for the younger years. Therefore, we are asking parents to make the decision themselves as to whether they wish to send their children to school. Parents will not be fined for non-attendance of their children at this time.
Children who have been classed as clinically extremely vulnerable due to pre-existing medical conditions have been advised to shield. The English Government does not expect children in this category to attend school. If a child lives in a household with someone who needs to shield it is advised children only attend school if stringent social distancing can be adhered to, and if children are able to follow instructions. This may not be the case for very young children, so they should stay at home.
As we prepare to open our schools for Reception, Year One and Year Six we ask parents and carers to email:
firstname.lastname@example.org – Reception and Year One
email@example.com – Year Six
as to whether you are planning to send your child to school if we open on Monday 1st June 2020. In order for us to plan effectively if we are to re-open please email by Monday 18 May 2020.
